I have read in both this forum and others that before filing for bankruptcy you should get your bank account balance down to under $100 or the trustee may question it. Here's my question, I am going to file for Chapter 7 and my paycheck is directly deposited. I checked with the person at my place of work who handles this and she says it will probably take a couple of months if I wanted to stop it. I need to file before then. So, I can't stop direct deposit and I quess I could withdraw the money once it's deposited but won't the trustee question such a huge withdrawal?

Here's the thing, I only get paid once a month, so I can time the filing to happen toward the end of my pay cycle when my account is always very low? When do they check your account status?
