back in 1995, i was partners in a car lot with another individual... this person wrote a check to an auction for 13k which bounced.. i never signed my name on the check (it was a 2 person sign type check), anyway i didnt know about this until the auction notified me (definitely a shock),, approx 30 days later, i paid the 13k and the auction was satisfied.. however, they contacted a company in atlanta georgia know as auction insurance agency which insures checks written to the auctions... my name was put into their ko book (maybe its known as a knock out book) so when i go to the auctions, i must pay cash, no checks... some auctions won't even allow me to attend.. what i want to know, is there a statute of limitations in which someone could keep you in one of these books? i was told by this company that there is none and im in forever... believe it or not, i have not had any problems banking, never a nsf check (have letter from bank), my credit score is around 700, and i have no delinquincies on my report.. all positives... only 1 judgment which is uncollectable and falls off the report in 6 months... anybody have any ideas.. i am in ohio if that matters... i am hoping that there is a statute in the ohio revised code with a time limit... thanks for any info..
