Same thing happened to my sister a few years
ago. Some guy kept calling my parent's
house and said he was a friend of hers and
couldn't find her number. My mom gave it to
him. But get this! The same guy would call
later and say he was supposed to meet my
sister somewhere and couldn't remember the
address and then ask my mom if she knew
where my sister was! My sister was in college
at the time and my mom would tell him "no"
and give him the number again. Somehow,
don't ask me how, he even called my brother
at work looking for her. All the while claiming
to be a friend of hers. My sister had no idea
what the heck was going on, but she had met
lots of new people at college. Finally, after
about a month of this my mom asked him for
his full name and telephone number and he
had to admit who he really was. A CA looking
for her. My mom read him the riot act and told
him if any of the family EVER heard from him
again that he would be sued. She also
reported the whole thing. We never heard
from him again.
