Basic economics is supply and demand must be in balance and prices must adhere to what the market will bare in order to maintain a healthy economy. The minute the government stepped in and artifically propped up the supply end with corporate welfare, tax breaks, and allowed loopholes in the tax code to remain, allowed those corporations to pay less than a livable wage to the people that buy their services and products, and limited the amount of time anyone can collect welfare, we were in trouble. They have set up a system that now depends on the ability of the population to buy on credit or do without, including for some, necessities. The minute a person hits their credit limit and can no longer artifically prop up their buying power, they default and the cycle you see over and over here and elsewhere starts. Default, repossessions, lawsuits, and bankrunptcy.
