Sorry J Kelly, they can.. Read this:

§ 804. Acquisition of location information [15 (USC 1692b]

Any debt collector communicating with any person other than the consumer for the purpose of acquiring location information about the consumer shall --

(1) identify himself, state that he is confirming or correcting location information concerning the consumer, and, only if expressly requested, identify his employer.

Sounds like the collector was acquiring location information.

The DB did not say in his post that the collection agent disclosed the debt, he identified his employer (NCO). Most likely the DB's employer asked what company was calling.

There was no violation, learn the FDCPA before you go off spouting 1,000 violations.
