Exactly. Not to mention the fact that it isn't my debt. All three CRA reports are a mess. We hadn't applied for any credit since 3/2000 so we had no idea there was anything wrong. Back in 3/2000, everything was correct and we had no trouble qualifing for the car loan even though we had the truck payment, we have always made GOOD money. We have/had paid every cc and loan off by 9/2001 except the truck which paid off 12/2003, my car which pays off in March of 2005, and the house. The CRs lists addresses that aren't ours, places of employment where neither of us has worked, and accounts we have never seen before. We are in the process of cleaning all of it up by disputing all entries that are wrong, but we still have to see the court case to the end. We finally figured out where some of it came from, the husband's ex wife attempted to separate their credit history and created a hell of a mess, but not the account I am being sued for. I don't know if what has happened concerning this account is error or fraud, just that I would have ended up in court no matter if I responded to a letter or not. My husband has lived in and been paying on this house for almost 15 years and has had the same phone number for the same amount of time. When we refinanced in 1998, I was added as owner as well.
