To start with your SS and retirement checks are exempt,they can't touch that. WHAT STATE ARE YOU IN? If you are in a debtor freiendly state, and the accounts happen to be individual, you might be a good canidate for bk. What will happen if you stop paying credit cards (informal bk) depends on what non exempt assets you have.
