Palisades is a wholly owned subsidy of Asta Funding. They own Surpa also. They are bad news.

Palisades, especially "Client Services Manager" Sheryl Rauch (or was that Raunch?), loves to twist and lie their way around. Same with Christine Rivera, Customer (Dis)Service Supervisor.

In response to a NJ BBB complaint they tried to use "Chaudhry v. Gallerizzo, 174 F.3d 394 (4th Cir 1999) to state verification is whatever the creditor wants to give the debtor. In fact this has nothing to do with consumer debt at all. It was about attorney fees.

I mention this just to show what they will do to twist things.

The BBB almost swallowed it until I educated them with correct references. Spears et al.

Seems the BBB went to them first and Palisades tried to run rampant over them, but the complaint I filed with the NJ AG must have finally caught up and I haven't heard a peep out of them since.

That lawyer they got, is a CA, no matter what and they must follow the FDCPA.

They will have to find someone in your state to file suit against you.
