Everyone knows Montgomery Ward's is gone, especially any place you would apply for credit with, so I doubt it would cause you any trouble unless it shows you have an unpaid balance and it's in collections. If it is in collections, you could try disputing the debt through the CRA and if the debt can't be validated, they would have to remove the negative trade line. It would have to be past SOL, but I don't know how you could use that to change the statis of the account. Maybe someone that knows more than me can tell you something else you can do.
