If you are still with the original creditors, call them and speak to the "hardship" department, explain the circumstances and request a write off and 1099c. Tell them you will authorize your Dr.to release verification of your condition. If the accounts are already in default, and with a 3rd party CA, write each one a full cease and desist with an explanation of your situation. Depending on your State,you will likely be able to avoid any judgment by filing a hardship exemption with the Courts, (signed by your Dr.) if you are sued.
