I'm by NO MEANS an expert but will be filing BK eventually. I was also on my mother's bank accounts and I owned the house with her.

The house was paid for with all her money -- nothing from me. And the bank accounts are all her money-- again, not one penny from me.

We went to the lawyer and had me taken off the house and went to the bank to have me taken off the bank accounts. On the bank accounts, I'm now listed as POD or "pay or death."

I haven't filed for BK yet as I know I need to be off the house for at least a year plus I have no judgements against me at this point.

I'll be seeing an attorney for advice when those start rolling in.

Anyway, I think your best bet is to be off the bank accounts.
