Firstly, the attorney for this corporation, which I was a officer of. A closely held corporation. I and the other board members had decided to hire a particular attorney, who supposedly specialized in corporate and business dealings. When I initially met with him, he did our standard articles of incorporation in the State of Colorado. His retainer (which I thought was outrageous for such a task was 2500.00, in 1998) He used about 1000.00 of that having his assistant print one off on the internet and we were set with the Colorado Sect of State. Now, he had the balance of the retainer for 2 years, I had moved to California, and we as officers of the corporation had entertained the idea of branching out to California, so I inquired to our expert in printing out articles off of the internet. Well he didnt even do that, he called or got on line to Sacramento and proceeded to inform me that he would need additional funds. I refused, it's been going on for some 3 years now, the corporation is NOW defunct, this is after the fact. He now has turned me PERSONALLY over to the local collection hounds, Ive disputed it with the CRA, to no avail. Ive thought about going to the Colorado Supreme Court greivance section, and seeking help there!!! I am eternally greatful to you and this site. It is extremely helpful, and much appreciated.
