IF you are ONLY concerned with having access to the money in the bank account, you and your husband needs to go to the bank and have the account changed where he would remain as primary on the account and make you the beneficiary. You might want to make sure the account is marked as POD. That way IF your husband died, then the money in the account would immediately pass directly to you. All you would have to do is to take a death certificate into the bank. Talk to your bank manager and have him/her explain it to you so there would not be a problem to arise at a later date.

If there are other legal issues that need to be addressed in financial affairs, you need to talk with an attorney to see what is required in your state. Most attorneys will give you a free 30 minute consultation.
