You DO need the C&D, but if you have told them you cannot take calls at work and they refuse to stop, they are violating the FDCPA, big time. When they call again, ask them if they know what the FDCPA is. Then read them this section from it:

"ß 805. Communication in connection with debt
collection
(a) COMMUNICATION WITH THE CONSUMER
GENERALLY. Without the prior consent of the
consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt -

(3) at the consumer's place of employment if the debt collector knows or has reason to know that the consumerís employer prohibits the consumer from receiving such communication."

The notice does NOT have to be in writing either, so says the FTC ! Then if the moron says they'll keep calling, tell them you will sue their butts for FDCPA violations !!
