I live in NC. We received arb ltrs via Fed Ex, we did not have to sign for them, they were left at our front door. Now the DEPUTY SHERIFF HAS BEEN to our home 8 times to deliver the arb. ltrs. I signed for mine, but the DEPUTY SHERIFF said I cannot sign for my husbands, because it is out of state. He said they are using him to prove in court that the papers were delivered, because sending them FedEx in NC, will not hold up in court. He said if my husband doesn't get his soon, then it will be ugly. I do not know what that means, if it is a scare tactic or what, because he is tired of coming to deliver the papers. I talked to several lawyers they either one do not know anything about arbitration and won't touch it, or they tell us to come in and pay a consultation fee and consider filing bankruptcy.
