I don't have one of these cards but I have been looking into them. The first thing to do is compare the fee structures. These cards all charge fees every time you turn around. Any of the Four Oaks cards are outrageous. The old Wired Plastic has a lot of free features, but a $6.95 monthly fee. Overall it's not a terrible deal. One that isn't listed on this site is the Rushcard (no relation to the persistent Canadian band). It has no monthly fee, also lower initial cost and ATM fee than WP, but they make it up with a $1.00 per purchase purchase fee. If you only use the card at ATMs to get cash, and charge less than 7 purchases per month, it would be a better deal.

They may not put anything on your credit reports, but I suspect that any of these companies could sell you out to CA's and other predators in a heartbeat. Like I said, I don't have any actual experience with who to trust.
