Can a company charge off a debt and put it on your credit report with out sending you an IRS 1099c to report it as income on your Form 1040? Also, the company probably reported it as a charge off to the credit bureau and they took their word that it was charged off. Did they have to submit a IRS 1099c to the credit bureau as well? The charge off has been paid, but I only recently pulled my credit report and found it listed as a charge off.
