I am probably the only one here that agrees with you, but it is for my own reasons. CAs bully because they know debtors are going to cower, lay low, and not cause waves. A bully will never pick on someone that they know will fight back and can beat them.

On the whole, debtors tend to take whatever an abusive CA dishes out, usually out of feeling guilty for having financial problems that causes them to default. Some will turn those CAs in to the FTC, some will file a civil suit, but the most they can get is $1000.00 per violation and it doesn't happen anywhere near often enough to act as a deterent. This is an industry that generates millions, possibly billions, of dollars a year and they are only being fined a thousand bucks at a time. That's not much pain in the scheme of things. Especially when those abusive tactics can net them money on accounts they are trying to collect on, amounting to several times more than the fines for violations that they are racking up. Just my opinion.
