The past few weeks I have been thinking about this too. This is just my opinion, mind you. I think that the economic downturn has been a double blessing for the debt buyers. First, it builds up the revenue for their future by creating the defaults they will be sueing on in 3 years. Second, it has taught them that if they sue now, they won't have SOL to worry about because they can get judgements against the debtors now and keep reaffirming the judgement for a very long time. Even if someone is judgement proof now, eventually they won't be. If they have no assets, eventually they will. I have a feeling every time we figure out a way to bring our side into balance with theirs, they will add some new and larger obsticle in our path that will tip the scales heavily in their own favor again.

We need congress critters that don't have MBAs! They think of citizens as employees and government as a giant corporation, and we all witnessed the Enron mess. We need a congress that is capable of balancing the needs of all.
