When I fell behind I changed my number thinking that would stop the calls and for the most part it did BUT... it didn't stop them from looking up the original credit application where you're asked to list your nearest relative and former address. When they couldn't get me by phone they wrote and also started calling my parents who I haven't lived with in over 20 years. Apparently they also call anyone with the same last name as I found out they had called my former brother-in-law. He was never listed on any of my accounts and I never lived in the same town as he does but they found him. I only found this info out when I called them after they called my parents and the CA happened to mention it. I've heard they'll call your neighbors too but if they have none of them have mentioned it. That too is easy enough to find by cross referencing addresses. If they want you bad enough they will find you. What frustrates me is the fact that when you send them a cease and desist letter, 9 out of 10 times the acct. is referred to a different CA and the whole thing starts over. It would seem like the previous notice would "carry over" but apparently not.
