Here's an Ohio ruling:
"In order to prove the existence of a written contract, the essential elements of the contract must be part of a writing, or part of multiple writings that are part of the same contractual transaction." Juhasz v. Costanzo (2001), 144 Ohio App. 3d 756, 762, 761 N.E.2d 679. (Citations omitted.)
