What state are you in and when was the last time you paid the original creditor before the account became deliquent.
They are a bad debt buyer, who bought your account for pennies on the dollar. They have added interest and will continue to add interest. If this account is passed the SOL, then you send the SOL letter. Protect your assets NOW.
