thanks for the replies about the 'deal' msr offerred - we were suspicious about it to begin with. but it DOES appear that we are royally screwed, all because i am an honest person; we didn't dispute the debts because they helped her get through school and we intended to pay - until i lost my job! we have made good-faith efforts to negiate payment plans with arrow and msr... and all i seem to have done is give them info to use against us. not only that, we sent a small payment to arrow in an attempt to initiate a payment plan :P
we have no money now, but in 2 - 3 years she can practice her profession and hopefully make enough to pay everyone off fairly quickly. it also means we would rather not declare bankruptcy, as that might deter future employers. we live in az, so they CAN garnish, but that would force us to mmediate bankruptcy, because we can barely feed the 2 kids as it is...... we are seeing an attorney monday, but would appreciate any other tips/insights you folks can provide re: what do we do next?
