You might also want to check whether she has a judgment. There are certain exemptions where you can get a lien on a homestead in Texas and I may be wrong about this so it is best to check on it. I would think that this would fall under the mechanics lien principle where you make repairs on real property. You can sometimes attach that.

She does need a lawyer to see about if they have the right to exercise a mechanics lein on real property.
