A few months ago, I posted that I had been sued by lawyers representing Providian. I answered the lawsuit as best I could since I cannot afford an attorny. Now.....I have a letter of discovery. The second question they ask is where my account is and the account number. Is that legal?? I haven't charged on that account in years, though I did try to pay it off for awhile. I gave up when none of my payments were reducing the amount owed. I was paying Encore, post-dated checks;per their request, and the balance kept going up, NOT down. Now, I have a lawsuit. The last payment I made was about a year ago, they want all sorts of records of payments, which I don't have. I have moved since all this happened and can't find anything! I am so scard! I live in Kentucky and have no job. The only thing we have is our car, which we still owe over 7500 on. My husbands name is the first one on the bank account and car title, though we have nothing in our bank account. Do I send give the court house a copy of my discovery letter answer? This just makes me sick because I actually tried to work something out and now, I'm being sued.
