Another timeless lie that CA's use. This means that if you don't pay, she is going to write it down on her notepad to call you tomorrow and ask for money again. They can't say specific threats like "file a lawsuit" unless they really intend to. So they weasel around and make you think they're threating to.

If they have a judgement already, they would have already filed paperwork to garnish wages or take assets or whatever else they're allowed to do. They are calling the payroll department to find out how much you make to decide if you're worth sueing. If it's possible in your company, talk to the payroll department first and tell them not to talk to the CA.

Is this thing SOL? In the unlikely event that the do sue and could win, worst case you should be able to settle at that time for $848 or less. It is not legal to add on thousands in bogus "costs".

Don't talk to them any more by phone. Don't pay anything unless they really are taking legal action.
