RJM Acquisitions is trying to collect for a Fingerhut acct that was closed in 1998. There was a balance at that time but this just appeared on my credit report as of May 2004 and shows acct was opened in Aug 2002. I live in NC. Can they do this and are they able to collect in my state? Will a dispute remove it from credit report?
