If the debt is only a year old, then you send a limited cease and desist letter. Sorry, I thought this was much older. Are you SURE, it is only a year old. Have you ever paid a CA, anybody other than the original creditor.

If the account is, in fact, only a year old then edit this letter and send it certified/return receipt.
