If YOU can't remember when you last paid the original creditor, you can assume Midland doesn't have a CLUE!! Go to Court, say you don't remember anything about the account, ask to see a signed application, account records, and the date of your last payment directly to the ORIGINAL CREDITOR. If it is still on your credit report, from the OC, look for the first 30 day late, or if it is showing a chargeoff date, count 6 Months back from that date, or call the CRA and ask what they are showing as the reported first delinquency. Were you living in NY when you first defaulted on this account? If not, what State were you living in? If it has a shorter SOL than NY, you can claim that State's SOL under NY's "borrowing statute" law.
