Many times I see posted "what makes this procedure legal?" (something a CC, bank or CA does). We are expecting to see a law that makes it legal. I think it myself sometimes and I think I figured it out. It's not that a law makes it legal, it's that when there is no law AGAINST something (a practice, procedure, etc) it seems de facto legal. Example: Since there is no law against talking someone into transferring an old debt to a new credit card it is not illegal (immoral perhaps). There is no law permitting it -- but there is no law not permitting it either. Just some musings, I hope it makes sense.
