I have Providian lawyers threatening to sue me as well. They sent me something that looks like a complaint, only it is not from the court, it is something they typed and said they would file if I don't contact them. What is the name of the scam lawyers they are using? For me it is Weltman, Weisman and Reis. They had called me on the phone a few weeks ago and I played dumb and said "she doesn't live here anymore", next thing you know I get their letter giving me 30 days to dispute the debt. I think they really believed I don't live here, so they are hoping to send stuff here, thinking I won't ever see it and they can get a default judgment, but I am sending them a DV letter, so maybe then they will not bother...if they do, i will go to court. This board has helped me not be afraid and learn how to fight back. You need to do the same. Good luck to you and keep us posted.
