You want to always sign the back of your credit cards so if you lose it no one else can sign it and use it. When I still had credit cards, I put the same special mark on all of them so I could prove what cards I actually signed and could prove it wasn't my signature on any that weren't. I don't know if it would have held up, but it sure made me feel better.
