I agree with what everyone else has written, and would like to add one more bit of advice. If possible, put aside a little cash when you can for your "defense fund". There are times when I can only add $5 or $10, but it definitely helps your piece of mind to know that if you are sued, you have a resource to defeat the CA's, whether by defending a lawsuit or filing BK7. You are very likely to win if you defend against a lawsuit. CA's are used to default judgements, or tearful defendants calling them to beg for payment plans when a summons is issued. I was sued earlier this year, fought it, and the case was dismissed for lack of evidence. My main problem these days is not answering the calls from CA's. I DESPERATELY want to let them know that I know how powerless they are. However, I'm well aware that ANY response to them is just asking for further harassment, so I screen my calls and continue to wait out the SOL. If I'm still getting calls when the SOL has run, though, I WILL be having some fun with them!
