If Sherman doesn't have the goods, then you ask for a DISMISSAL WITH PREJUDICE!!! It will end right there.

And so far even a dismissal without prejudice seems to be just as good. They won't waste any more money pursuing the case if they can't prevail.

It's true that I had the SOL in my defense, but that doesn't mean I wasn't scared. All sorts of things went through my head the last few days before the trial. But I was determined that I would not pay a penny until the judge SAID I had to pay it.

As it turned out, it ended about as anti-climatically as possible. I was totally shocked and delighted. I ran out in the hall and immediately called my husband, trying hard not to whoop with joy that it was finally over. May it be so for you, as well!
