where should I begin? Filed bruptcy 3 years ago to try to get back on my feet. My husband is self employed and we have been trying to stay a float( he refuses to claim bruptcy thinks it will hurt his home improvement license).. We have some credit cards in his name and some in mine and a couple joint.. he stopped paying on his approx 2 years ago (we live in MD) I have recently stopped paying on mine... Also had a house we let the bank forclose on (long story) Had a 1st mort and 2nd mort on the house forclosed on way more debt than the house was worth.. Inherited a 2nd house and had a homeimprovement loan on that and rolled the 2nd mort from the foreclosed house and the home improvement loan into the inherited home and wholah now I own a house with little to no equity. It took me 6 months to get a loan approved for the inherited home . Recieved something from Homeside Lending about the sale and the amount we will owe them looked like a notice to the court????
Its around $5,500.. We tried visiting a realy bad lawyer and explaining the entire story and he was horrible left crying and i'm really so embarrassed to see another lawyer.. Its all seems so confusing. To make things worse the other day my husband recv a letter from the law offices of Peroutka and Peroutka they are representing Pasadena Recievables for $7800 the letter says the distric Court assigned a case #??? what does that mean.. Should I send a validation letter? I have another year for SOL to take effect..
I'm so paranoid about bank accounts being freezed and paychecks garnished.. The lawyer basically told us they will come after us and i'm going to habe to quit my job of 10 years because they will garnish my wages. Any advise I can get is sooooo appreciated.. I have trying to educate myself and this forum helps me so much. That lawyer made me feel like such a loser. And if you can follow this nightmare you are a genius!!!! thanks for listening.
