Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the judge can order you to pay. WHAT HE CAN do is award the plaintiff a judgment against you. Then it is up to the plaintiff to collect. The options for payment are between you and the plaintiff. If you have assets that they can seize, they probably will do just that. If you don't have assets, then they don't have much of a choice but to accept payments. And be glad that you are willing to make payments. 80% of judgments are uncollected.

So, a lot depends on your assets.
