I would ignore them. There is a lot of psychology in debt collection. They want you to be nervous. Watch caller ID and let the machine pick up.

Collection calls are stressful, but far MORE stressful if you talk to them. They will lie and threaten, talk in circles. Scare tactic!! Just don't let them get to you. Protect your assets, especailly your bank account. If you ever paid the original creditor with your current bank account, now is the time to close that account and open a new one in a different bank, someone else as primary if possible.
