Alright just back from my court date. The case will be going to trial now on Nov 9th. What a waste of my time.
I got there nice and early to check in. The attorney who was against me shows up late all frazzled, a little dumpy dishelved looking guy. He finds me out and hands me his business card printed on like looseleaf paper. Man I wish I could have gotten a quick trial today, he had nothing, his folder was pretty barren. I was trying to see if he had a copy of a signature or anything. He asked me what are we gonna do about this case , and I think I stunned him when I said go to trial, He then responded " We dont settle with any cases that go to trial, and I told him " I appreciate the effort.
I then had to wait for the whole call to be called, and an actual case, before I was called up to the bench with this moron.
Now my question is this , and Bodaciea maybe you can clarify for me. I was given an order trial call paper. And on it two boxes are marked. One is labeled " Answer to or otherwise plead within 28 days".
And the other one is "set for trial on xxxxx"
What does the first one mean, I need to plead? Do I need to return to court again? Someone please clarify this for me. I told the court I may look for counsel but I doubt I will. He said he would have one witness and I assume that means just himself. Man I wish I could have done this today. I would have been ready for it. Thanks.
