MBNA turned my debt over to a company in California who hired a law frim in Colo. I'm in New Mexico. I got a letter form these folks and responded to it, informing them I am judgement proof. Whereupon, they immediately turned it over to another law firm in Colo. So, I get this new letter today. They suggested I look up the Fair Debt Collection Act online for Colo. I'm thinking "What has this to do with me?" I live in NM and the debt was incurred in NM. Do I have to keep responding to these people? And does Colo. debt law apply to me? Thanks for your kind advice.
