Ohioans are not as alone as you think. IL does not have a specific statute on open accounts, either, except for those falling under the UCC. Non-UCC accounts fall into the *other* actions not specifically provided for in the statutes.

But just because there is no specific statute for open accounts does not mean that a credit card account meets the statutory requirements for a written contract. Some states are even specific concerning the required FONT SIZE of a written contract. Have you researched the actual specific requirements for a written contract in Ohio?
