Here's what I've learned about (Sh)itibank.

So you know I'm not full of Cit, in the paperwork you were served, there was the following:
a) The Plaintiff's original petition
b) An Affidavit from a Citibank company Representative, which states they have personal knowledge of the account, and refers to the Account Statements, and Card agreement as "True and correct". Blah Blah Blah...
c) The "Account Statements" as an Exhibit" (Incomplete?).
d) A copy of the "Card Agreement" as an Exhibit(which won't have your signature on it).

Look closely at all the dates on the above material. Sometimes they will screw up, and include Account statements or other evidence that is beyond the date of the Affidavit. Sometimes the date of the Card agreement will not agree with the age of the account.

Regent's office will do the following:
1) They will seek a Summary Judgement. You will need to respond to this.

2) They will send a letter to you offering to settle for 80% as it becomes close to each trial date.

3) They will submit Motions to the court asking for sanctions and fines against you. This is all BS, just follow court procedures and respond as necessary.

4) If you're not in Houston, it is unlikely that Anh Regent will show up to court. He will send a substitute lawyer for the pre-Trial, or he will try to phone in if the court will let him.

5) If you press it to trial, he will most likely motion for a dismissal on the day of the trial.

Summary:
If you're nervous about going to court by yourself, get a lawyer through NACA. There are some really good ones here in TX that know Regent very well. It might cost $1000 or so to make this disappear.

Good Luck!
