Just met with Bankruptcy Trustee; QUESTION, though

Hello all,

Well I did it; I had my 341 meeting with creditors and needless to say NOT ONE of them showed up. Cool. The only thing is, with everyone else there when the questions were over, the trustee said "Okay, we'll declare this a no-asset case, you're dismissed" except in the case where people owned property or had a divorce or fouled-up papers, etc.

In MY case, however, he asked if I had filled out the papers myself, which I had, except I used one of those BK software programs that you can download, which makes it much easier. I told him this and he kept asking at various times "so you had no one help you with the papers" and I kept saying no.

Then at the end, instead of him saying "okay, this is a no-asset case" he said "well, we usually don't discharge the pro se cases until we've held the papers for 60 days, so you'll be hearing from us."

What does THAT mean? Do they usually hold the papers longer for those who do it themselves in case there is a mistake or something? I have NO assets, so I was hoping he would simply declare it a no asset case like all the others.

Does anyone know what this guy is talking about or why I have to wait to hear back from them?

Thanks,

Collapser

P.S. I'm in the state of Tennessee.
