They will file it with the Real property records of the county clerk so, if you have any property that is not exempt, it will attach to it, your homestead is exempt. If they execute a writ, they can only seize not exempt assets, in Texas, most peoples assets are exempt. Household goods (unless you have some priceless are or something), clothes etc. are exempt, up to 30,000 for single or 60,000 for married. You can search exempt assets in Texas, or look at a bankruptcy site for Texas, the bankruptcy and judgment exemptions are the same.

Another reason they file with the records clerk, is so if you ever sell you house, they will try to collect the judgment from the equity you receive at the time of sale. I am not sure, I think even that money is exempt till six months after the sale. If you use the money to buy another house the money stays exempt. JKelly, Whychat, Lady, or Cat, know more about all of this than I do, so maybe they will chime in.
