online credit reports?

I am 'kind of in hiding' from some past debt in college (discover card, may 2001 last payment-- I live in IL). I am sure they will find me or start looking for me eventually however i don't want to give them any help. I am still curious to have a peak at my credit report. Whychat had advised me before not to order one and to opt out. If I order an online version is ther ea way to do so without tipping them off? Thanks,
