Before you start blaming the credit card company for the money you lost gambling, check your cardholder agreement. Many credit card companies include a clause that says that you may be in violation of your agreement if you use the account for internet gambling.

Yes, internet gambling *is* illegal in this country and most are operated out of the US for that reason. *IF* you dispute the charges as fraudulent within 60 days of the statement including the charges, you *may* be able to get the credit card company to reverse the charges. Then again, the credit card company may rightfully close your account, declare you in default, and accelerate payment of the balance if you are in violation of the agreement.

Accusing the credit card company for authorizing illegal gambling activities that you willing participated in may not be your best course of action. I would suggest seeing if it's possible to dispute the charges without getting yourself into more trouble.
