Aside from everything else, once you start "settling" with anyone, for any reason, you have cemented a big "KICK ME" sign to your backside.

Send the CA collecting for this outfit a dispute/ validation/ cease and desist. Dispute it to the CRA as FRAUDULENT,file a complaint on line with your State AG office and your State BBB against the video store.Send a copy of your filed compaints along with the dispute letter to the CRA and the dispute letter to the CA.
