If you have alot of cards, cancelling one does not hurt your credit, it actually might make it better. The CR should read "closed by consumer", meaning by you. It will still show all of the plus's, no lates. etc. (I think). If this is a card you have had the longest, try asking them to raise your limit or you will cancel it. They don't want you to cancel, so they just might. Hope this helps! :)
