What really gets me it that the original account was 700 dollars. And now it is 2200 and climbing. This is not even an issue of getting me to pay a debt anymore. It is an issue of robbery. What they say I owe is not even half of the original debt> Mia

So they probably paid 7 bucks for the account. That's a nice little profit, huh! It is just sickening the way this system works! It sets people up to fail. As soon as you hit your credit limit and you have no more buying power, you become vulnerable. Then if anything happens like you lose your job and have to take less money just to work again or get a divorce, you are a default waiting to happen, then the vultures start circling. Then some bottom feeder calls you names and tries to verbally beat money out of you that shouldn't be going to line their pocket, then the scum of the scum of credit card companies start sending you offers for credit at usery rates or 1/100th under it. It's like they are handing you a bigger shovel to dig your own grave with, SICK!

I hope the don't pass the bankruptcy laws cause I might need the recourse if I am not able to wait the SOL out.> Mia

You and far too many people are in the same boat. When I read that bill, I about tripped over my lower jaw! I am lucky, we started paying off all our debt and went to cash a years ago. That's why my little "situation" really blew me away. It isn't our debt, but the more I dig into it, the more it looks like the hubby's ex tried to separate her credit from his credit and it ended up on the wrong one. We have decided to just sit on this info. Midland has been such a-holes, I don't want to see them get any money, even from the hubby's ex, besides she still has one kid at home and things are rough enough for a single Mom.
