If I was wrong, Why Chat, or Lady or somebody would correct me. Had exactly this discussion on another forum. The CA sent incomplete validation. It proved nothing really. Bottom line was, either the consumer accepted this incomplete validation and paid the CA, or did not accept this validation. If the consumer did not accept the validation and the creditor sued, then the creditor would have to provide full and complete validation in court. We always tell people to defend in court, because the CA usually can not validate, but communicating with them in anyway before they sue, lets them know that you care about your credit.
