I'm sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. $2,000 suit? I'm assuming it is in small claims - you really didn't need to hire a lawyer for that small of an amount. You should have answered and filed an appearance pro se - you don't need a lawyer in small claims. Let them keep getting hearings but make sure you keep going, they are trying to wear you down. They sued me for over $4,000 - they had nothing to prove their case and I had nothing to show them cuz I didn't owe them this amount. We went to 3 hearings (2nd was my request for dismissal) - right before the 3rd hearing they submitted a dismissal order. They had nothing and from what I hear around hear they usually don't. As long as you keep going to the hearings they will have to drop it eventually. Don't supply them with anything - they have to prove their case, not you.
